Re: Child care needed to support women’s career, Letters, May 31

I support Sharon Gregson’s call for quality child care as a way of supporting young families and encouraging women to remain in the workforce.

However I do have one question for Ms. Gregson. How will we pay for this new program? Quebec’s experience with subsidized child care has shown that this is a very expensive program.

Should we cut an existing social program or raise taxes on everyone to pay for subsidized child care?
