Re: Canada’s dropping the ball on educating our young, Editorial, Nov. 30
Federal and provincial governments should pay close attention to the TD Bank report calling for major investments in early childhood education and care. This report marks a hopeful shift in attitude toward the social and economic benefits of a quality child care system.
We have lagged far behind other developed countries that have long recognized these benefits and made the right investments.
It’s time we caught up. Canadians can no longer afford to see child care as the sole concern of families with young children.
The high cost of Canada’s child care crisis, to families, communities and the economy, demands that we should invest now without waiting any longer.
