Re: Inner-city students need food, clothing, Sept. 26

Our government didn’t hesitate to “find and spend” $563 million on the new roof of BC Place while students at Seymour school (and other inner-city schools) are coming to school hungry, cold and needy.

We could elect a government that gives communities the capacity to make sure their children have warm socks, shoes without holes, and meals for hungry tummies.

We must become a province that knows that “families first” is more than a slogan and give these inner-city elementary children the same opportunities that the well-fed, warmly clothed and well-paid politicians assume for their own children.
