… "As a high school teacher with two young children of my own, I understand the importance of early learning," said Comox Valley MLA Don McRae.
"The investment of full-day kindergarten ensures children have the best start possible."…
The project is part of a $144 million plan announced by Premier Gordon Campbell … that includes 21 school additions, one renovation and 133 modular classrooms across the province as well as about $10 million for furnishings and equipment.
The NDP has attacked the announcement as an admission that the provincial government has been "short changing B.C.'s kids."
"I just hope this is the beginning of a process that corrects the funding shortfall," said education critic Robin Austin.
