Re: B.C. uses adviser to find savings at Vancouver school board, April 15

It is heartbreaking to see Education Minister Margaret MacDiarmid and Premier Gordon Campbell playing political games with public education. The budget shortfalls are going to devastate our schools, and yet they claim provincial funding is at its highest level. The truth is, it hasn't properly covered costs mandated by Victoria, such as full-day kindergarten and carbon emission reporting.

When parents weren't taken in by the numbers game and started to mobilize, they first ignored us and then played the bully. I can't help but think the appointment of an investigator to look at the VSB budgeting process is just a delaying tactic so the government can coast until June without addressing concerns.

We're parents, we're voters, we're mad and we're not going away.
