Childcare crisis a heavy burden for studious parents

For most students, balancing a full schedule of classes along with everyday life is enough to exhaust their energy. But some students choose to juggle even more with that mixture, combining classes and work — and kids.

The thought of balancing heavy textbooks on one arm and babies on the other may terrify some students. Yet for those willing to go back to school after families have already entered the picture, or for those who become families a little earlier than planned, that balancing act is a reality. However, with the current childcare crisis at UVic, services are not meeting demand — and the effects are wreaking havoc on the jugglers.
