It just doesn't smell right

I attended the Thursday, Jan. 28 meeting at the SD33 offices where the presentation or information session was held to teach us why our children could get fewer days at school and I learned lots. ….I learned that the majority of people there thought that the proposal where the kids will get an extra week off of school, but will have an extra eight to nine minutes added to their school days, sounds fine. ….

There will be a loss of support staff. CUPE is going to be mad and hit hard. …

Parents are already being told to help offset the cost of running buses and will have to pay for it. Now many will have to dredge up more money to pay for child care. I know, I know, I feel silly even mentioning that parents may want their kids kept in school to avoid additional child care costs, but how many families do you know have parents staying home because the expense of finding child care for young children doesn't make joining the workforce worthwhile? It's just a fact.
