The BCSTA's wishlist for government

Here are the recommendations from the B.C. School Trustees' Association to the government committee conducting 2010 budget consultations:
1. Continue to make investments in early learning initiatives, but not at the cost of improving support for the existing K-12 system.
2. Develop and adopt a comprehensive strategic plan to eliminate child poverty.
3. Increase investments in literacy, particularly early literacy.
4. Increase funding and services to students with special needs per previous BCSTA requests.
5. Increase support for aboriginal, immigrant and ESL learners….
