Discussions underway on children's services transfer from CLBC to MCFD

Last year, the provincial government announced the re-integration of services to children and youth with special needs from Community Living B.C. (CLBC) to the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD). CLBC will continue to deliver services to adults with developmental disabilities and other intellectual impairments.

The date to complete the transfer is set for Oct. 31 this year.

Recently, BCGEU met with senior representatives of CLBC, MCFD, and the Public Service Agency (PSA) representing the provincial government for a briefing on the transfer and its impacts on union members currently employed at CLBC.
