…. The budget promises space for up to half of kindergarten-aged children in September 2010, and expanding to accommodate all children whose parents want them enrolled.
… “The world has changed,” she says. “We live in a world of more technology. We live in a world where two parents work, so parents and educators have asked for the option of all-day kindergarten.”
Simpson says the all-day kindergarten plan is a Liberal “smoke screen,” and says the plan may mostly apply to private schools.
“It’s going to be private schools who will likely get the lion’s share of that money, because they’re in the position where they have the rooms (and) they can ramp up their staff,” he says….
