Tom Sandborn is right. Children are too low on the government priority list. We've been trying to change that at the Vancouver School Board since the new board was elected in November

We know that investing early in our children has tremendous long-term benefits and that education is the key to overcoming the disadvantages that with which too many children start out.

As the provincial government makes cuts to services to children in the name of tough economic times, we must remind them that supporting and educating children is an investment, not an expense.

Failing to meet the needs of students and inadequately funding their education will leave us with much greater costs down the road than any savings in the present. What better "stimulus" investment is there than our children?
