The Village of Slocan has sent out warning that proposed cuts to programs at W.E. Graham Community School by the school district could seriously damage services in the community.

… But she said so much more than a school is at stake in this matter because, as a community school, WE Graham provides a number of services to Slocan that are essential to its very existence.

The W.E. Graham Community Services Society attached to the school includes a daycare, youth centre, computer lab, multimedia centre, as well as drug and alcohol services.

"The community services society is providing a whole range of services and we would lose that," Perriere said. "For our community it would be a disaster."….
