Straight writers praised for childcare coverage

As a child-care advocate since 1987, when I first realized there was no affordable daycare for my two young sons, I have not come across another writer who understands the child-care issue better than your writer Pieta Woolley.

She is knowledgeable on the roller-coaster history of childcare in B.C., and she understands the huge demand from parents that currently exists for more spaces that families can afford, as well as the need for decent wages for early-childhood educators. She writes about a complex issue with clarity, and she hit the nail on the head when she said that no party has the targets and time lines we desperately need for building a B.C. child-care system.

Thanks to Pieta, and to Carlito Pablo as well, for acknowledging that childcare is a top issue for voters, even as our politicians are avoiding any specific commitments.
