New Westminster is supportive of the Neighbourhoods of Learning pilot project.
City council has directed staff to work with the New Westminster School District and the provincial government to realize community amenities through the development of three new schools in the city under the province's Neighbourhoods of Learning Pilot Project. The pilot project will see education and community services brought together in a single neighbourhood hub.
… Coun. Bill Harper supports the concept of creating multi-service hubs that include heath care, child care and social services - a sort of one-stop shopping experience for services.
"I really hope this pilot project turns into a real strategy by the provincial government and others. I think it is a good working model," he said.
