The Burnaby Association for Community Inclusion hosted an all-candidates meeting for all ridings in the city on Thursday night, to focus on social and community issues.
The event, … focused on three key areas: disability and employment; seniors' issues; and early intervention and child care.
The candidates were asked prepared questions, which looked at specific issues such as the number of people with disabilities living in poverty, inclusive education, affordable housing, child poverty and support for young adults with developmental disabilities….
The Burnaby Association for Community Inclusion is a non-profit organization that has worked in Burnaby for more than 50 years providing services to children, youth and adults with developmental disabilities and their families. The group currently serves more than 600 individuals and their families in Burnaby and the Tri-Cities with a variety of programs and runs five integrated child-care centres….
