Things would be better with more women MLAs

I would like to respond to the recent complaints about the current NDP candidate selection policy.
….This women/minority candidate policy is a huge step towards true equality in the Legislature.
In Sweden and Norway, where 1/3 of elected politicians are women, seven major childcare and equal rights bills have been recently passed.
The track record that is left by the Liberals in BC has proven that there is little interest in improving the lives of women and children. They began by clawing back ever penny of child support given to women on welfare - that is a $100 less for food. They continued with back to work policy for single parents when their child is 3 years old, regardless of the situation that finds a woman on welfare, for example leaving an abusive relationship. BC Liberals totally changed the welfare, child care subsidy and other social services agencies' into cold in-humane institutions. The province of BC led by Liberals, has the highest child poverty rate in Canada, 5 years running. The Liberals have done nothing to help out those living at the lowest economic bracket during this current recession.
White men in power throughout history have created the Have and Have Not system that exists in our world, country and province.
We need more women to represent the interests of all citizens of British Columbia, so that women and children are really represented in the Legislature, not just an after thought….
