Re: "Premier snubs election meeting request," May 1.

Clearly, Gordon Campbell is afraid to face his opponent Mel Lehan, the popular community activist in Point Grey. Even the Chamber of Commerce has been unable to convince the premier to attend their all-candidates' meeting on May 7.

No one expects the premier to spend a lot of time in his own constituency, but to refuse every single public event is evidence of his unwillingness to be accountable to the people who elected him. If this is his treatment of the voters in his own neighbourhood, what can the rest of us expect?
