…. some of the resolutions approved thus far at the AGM in Kelowna:

- That BCSTA urge the provincial government to adopt a comprehensive strategic plan to eliminate child poverty by setting a target, creating a plan of action and take action to report thereof.

- That BCSTA urge the Ministry of Education to use Early Development Index (EDI) when developing priorities for the expansion of fully funded, full-day kindergarten.

- That BCSTA urge the Ministry of Education to explore accessing new federal infrastructure funds to assist with renovations of usable space within existing schools for early learning programs.

- That BCSTA encourage the Ministry of Education, Ministry for Children and Family Development and Ministry of Health to work together with local boards of education to maximize the dollars that are available to address the needs of children by encouraging flexibility and a sharing of resources at both the local and provincial levels….
