VICTORIA – The Five Great Goals have grown into The Six Pillars.

BC Liberal leader Gordon Campbell has released his party’s platform for the May 12 election, much of it restating commitments made in the February budget and previously.

…. The BC Liberals promise to bring in all-day kindergarten in public schools for parents who want it, with no implementation date attached. This and a more ambitious program to extend public pre-school to four-year-olds were left out of the February budget by a government facing a steep plunge in resource and taxation revenues.

“Eventually, voluntary preschool opportunities will be established for four-year-olds, as the economy starts to grow again,” the platform states.

While the NDP supports a freeze on post-secondary tuition, the BC Liberals say tuition increases will be limited to the inflation rate, and maintain student aid at current levels….
