Vision Vancouver park board commissioner Constance Barnes will bring a motion to the board at next Monday night's park board meeting asking parks staff to work with city staff to reinstate the Joint Council on Childcare.

Formed in 2002, the council led to the creation of 600 new childcare spaces in the city before it was disbanded in 2005.

Barnes, who's made childcare a priority since she was elected to the board last November, wants a review of daycare spaces for infant, toddler and three to five-year-olds and before and after-school spaces.
