The last federal and civic election confirmed that only less than one- quarter of eligible voters exercised their rights to vote….

The passiveness of citizenship obligation is not a healthy attitude and the city authority with help from the provincial government should work on reversing that.

It is a prime time to raise these issues before the provincial election and to take action. Yes there are other issues that occupy the priority list of the majority, such as poverty, health-care services, child care, gangs, drugs and many more but being able to speak out and to have someone listen would encourage civic engagement.

….Let us try to give incentives to the silent majority at this coming provincial election and hope that they exercise their rights at the poll. They speak out and bring the change that we have all been waiting for.
