I feel sorry for many parents who have never experienced what all-day kindergarten can offer their toddlers.

In many countries, it is an official first level of education and in some countries this can start as early as the age of three.

All-day kindergartens have a team of teachers working, usually in two shifts. The morning shift has many different activities, including subjects as counting, language, drawing, music and history. This type of education is kept fun and interesting, with discussion encouraged so the children develop better social skills.

Afternoon shift includes a rest period, normally taken after the midday meal, and the rest of the afternoon is playtime with integrated education included. However, even during playtime teachers repeat morning subjects, because the memory in that age is primarily short term….

These skilled teachers are able to plan activities and subjects based on pedagogical and psychological research. This creates the most efficient and playful way to educate and allows a safe and fun learning environment for all our children, This type of system is available in many counties at no cost. Why not here in Canada?
