Board pushes for full-day K

While the Cowichan Valley School District's proposal to offer a pilot project in full-day Kindergarten seems to have fallen off the table in Victoria, school trustees are still interested in pursuing the idea….

"Is it possible to resubmit the proposal or go ahead on it ourselves?" she asked….

"We poke them with a sharp stick once a month, to let them know we're still waiting to hear about it," he told the board, adding that there still is a lot that could be discussed about the idea.

Trustee Julie Thomas said she, at least, would like to explore it a bit more and when De Groot moved that administrators be asked to do exactly that and present a report to the board as soon as possible, she found unanimous support.
