Budget gives working families the finger, cottage owners a new deck

Minister of Finance Jim Flaherty just announced that a single mom who makes $35,000 a year will save about $500 a year in tax cuts. That works out to $41.67 a month.
A dual-income family earning $70,000 will save $275. Or, $22.92 a month.
Moments later, Flaherty announced that Canadians renovating their home or cottage can save up to $1,350 on their 2009 taxes, in a one-time stimulus to the home-building industry. That works out to $112.50 per month….
