Canada unfortunately did not make the grade in UNICEF recent report card that ranked the top 25 industrialized countries in regards to their early childhood education and care facilities, in fact Canada came in last place.

West Kootenay coordinator for early years initiatives Kim Adamson says that couples who are hoping to start families in the future should start advocating for change before the situation gets even worse.

Adamson added that investing in early child care and education is a key strategy to respond to current economic challenges, and promote economic stimulus and recovery.

If you’re concerned about the future of child care in your area Adamson recommends to start contacting your local politician.
