Dear Editor,

The great thing about organizing a fundraiser (other than the great food and money raised) is being reminded of what an incredible community we live in.

The list of businesses and individuals who donated auction items and other support is even longer, but worth reading to remind us of this community's generous spirit….

It is through the combined effort of the child care society, the District of Ucluelet, and the support of the community that we were finally able to secure sufficient funding to build a child care centre.

With this somewhat overwhelming half-million project ahead of us, it is heartening to know we have both the financial and community support to help us manage the legal, licencing, insurance, recruiting, training, and start up costs of the child care program.

….We look forward to our 3rd annual event, as well as the future grand opening of our community child care centre.
