Keep schools open during 2010 Games

Re: "No medals for school closure idea," Letters, Oct. 10.

I agree with Sharon Gregson. I am a public school teacher in Vancouver. There are many parents who cannot afford childcare for two weeks during the Olympics. There are not enough day care spaces in the Lower Mainland. I hope the Vancouver School Board votes to keep schools open during the 2010 Winter Olympics. I will be willing to walk for 80 minutes (to and from school) to keep the children in school.
