Giving corporations tax cuts is just plain wrong. There is no evidence that tax cuts have ever spurred investment in any significant way. In fact, such cuts act as a drag on our economy because they reduce the government's ability to provide the needed services that do create jobs.

If you want to stimulate the economy create a national child-care program. If you want to stimulate the economy and insulate us from the dangers of oil dependency fund green redevelopment for every household in Canada. Provide homeowners with thousands of dollars to get themselves off the grid and watch local business suppliers of green technology grow.

Tax cuts for corporations are nothing more than freebies for the super rich paid out of the pockets of those who actually work for a living. Jack Layton is the one politician who seems to have it right. Use our money to fund our communities, our green futures and our children's needs. Pay for it with surpluses raised from the corporations for a change.
