VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - There's another push for higher wages in BC. A new study from the University of Victoria suggests the average family of four needs two bread-winners, making at least $16.74 an hour, just to survive.

Unlike minimum wage, the researchers claim their "living wage" reflects the true costs of life in Vancouver, based on factors like shelter, food, transportation and childcare.

According to Statistics Canada, BC has the highest level of child poverty in Canada and half of those kids live in families where at least one person has a full-time job.
