Childcare providers, guardians, and the business community are invited to attend a two-day conference on childcare next month.
Presented by the Early Childhood Development Network, “Raising Our Kids Together” will bring together people who care about kids in the community.
…. Fairburn says the conference will provide childcare providers and guardians with helpful tools to provide children with the support and education they need to live a good life.
For example, getting kids to become active will help prevent obesity, she says.
“If we can get them more active, we can reduce that,” Fairburn says.
Redford adds that nutrition is also key in a child’s development.
“Children learn when they have proper nutrition,” Redford says.
Everyone involved in childcare is welcome, but people in the business community are also encouraged to attend because there are many single, working parents.
“We need the community support around childcare,” Fairburn says, adding that the most critical time in a child’s life is between birth and age six. “They need to have that quality childcare.”….
