Important education
The Province

It's no surprise that The Province editorial board is no fan of public investment in early childhood education and care.

How can these folks acknowledge on one hand that parents are desperate for child care and yet say tax breaks give options to access child care?

Tax breaks will never replace a mother's income and will never create more child-care spaces.

Done the right way, publicly funded early-childhood education and care is as important for four-year-olds as Grade 2 is for seven-year-olds.
