Child care workers from Burnaby and New Westminster will be rallying tomorrow morning, Sat. March 29, at the constituency office of Burnaby Liberal MLA Richard Lee to press the Campbell government for action to solve B.C.'s child care crisis.

"More than 80 per cent of B.C. families who need child care can't find it," says George Heyman, president of the B.C. Government and Service Employees' Union, which represents child care workers across the province. "Families in Burnaby and New Westminster urgently need help to deal with long waitlists for child care spaces, high parent fees and the alarming shortage of qualified child care staff."

Heyman says the child care workers will meet at the Brentwood Town Centre bus loop at 9:30 a.m. and then march to the nearby office of MLA Lee to rally at about 10 a.m. They will also present Lee with signed petitions calling for government to act.
