Trail recognizes social services month

Community social service worker Patsy Harmston encouraged Trail city council to declare March "Community Social Services Awareness Month" in recognition of the work she and her colleagues do.

"We work with children, victims of violence, adults with developmental disabilities, youth, substance abusers, families at risk, youth at risk, early childhood educators, daycare, adults with disabilities and more," she told council last week.

"These supportive services help improve the quality of life for everyone while making our communities stronger and more stable."
