The future direction of the Delta school district will be up for discussion at a special symposium parents are encouraged to attend.
On Saturday at North Delta secondary, the district will host Vision 2012 -- The Schools We Want.
Officials are hoping the forum will attract at least 250 parents, educators, students and members of the community to talk about the type of programs and schools they want as future priorities….
The district is already looking at creating more StrongStart early learning centres and adding daycare spaces in empty classes.
Although enrollment numbers are going down, Cardwell said the school board isn't contemplating school closures at this time. He pointed out school districts will need extra space to fulfill their expanded mandate handed down by the provincial government.
