I'm getting a pretty clear impression that some of the members of Kelowna city council are totally clueless as to how the child-care situation in Kelowna affects "normal" people.

Wow! Brilliant! Let's offer free daycare to people who already make a great salary, get cars, benefits and numerous other incentives working for the City -- $10,000 phones anyone?

How about a regular, four-person, middle-class family who just found out the infant-care facility they have their child in is closing, giving them four weeks notice to find a place to put their infant so they can both work fulltime to afford a $2,400 a month base mortgage.

Good luck, at an average of $850 a month for one child fulltime (no free lunch here)…
