Early childhood development a priority in Sparwood

SPARWOOD - Over the next three years the Sparwood Early Childhood Development (ECD) Committee will execute a strategic plan designed to enhance the early development of children from birth to six years.
The ECD Committee is a fundamental community organization that correlates service providers with caregivers, families and parents of children age birth to six years. In partnership with Success by Six, Children First and the Columbia Basin Alliance for Literacy, the Committee works in conjunction with the community to ensure that all children are nurtured and able to develop a solid foundation in their early years in order to reach their greatest potential.
The strategic plan is based on data compiled through extensive research into the district's current level of programming geared toward pre-school children as well as interviews conducted with parents, early childhood facilitators, daycare providers and members of the community.
