James calls for Reid's head

Richmond East Liberal MLA Linda Reid is being accused of making like Santa Claus with poor kids in an effort to score cheap political points.
Reid, who is the minister of state for child care, was raked over the coals earlier this week by radio talk show hosts, editorial writers and NDP Leader Carole James after Reid admitted her government distributed free child booster seats through Liberal constituency offices.
The seats were distributed through 12 Liberal constituency offices, including Premier Gordon Campbell's office, and Reid's own office, which received more free car seats than any other constituency office, according to the NDP.
The distribution of car seats was advertised in local newspapers and was the subject of photo opportunities for Liberal MLAs handing out the seats.
"It's now crystal clear that the B.C. Liberals made elaborate and concerted efforts to gain political mileage from child safety," James said….
