Re: Story "misleading" (letter, Sept. 29).
Here we go again, a government stating that it is doing the best for Canadian families. Monte Solberg, Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, I beg to differ.
The current federal government cut the Child Care Operating Funding Program to all day cares in the province effective July 1.
For my group day care, this equals more than $500 per month.
Ask my clients who all had daily rate increases how they feel the new changes have benefited them. And as for the $100 (before tax) Universal Child Care Benefit, this pays for 3.5 days of quality care.
Big deal.
So, now that you have ensured that the money is going to those who truly need it, when will my day care get its share?
