Even with the new centre, the stress on child care in the area is not expected to decrease much.

"We are offering more child care spaces but as I have added families and taken them off wait lists, more call and inquire almost daily," McKay said. "There needs to be major changes at a government level before we are going to see many differences in the availability of day care spaces throughout the entire province."
