It's a tough job...

Dear Sir:
I am a student who has just completed the Early Childhood
Education course at NWCC.
Before I even began the course, I was aware of the high staff
turnover in educators in this field.
There are many reasons why people leave the field. The main
reasons seem to be that wages are not high enough and there
are often no benefits.
After going through the hardest nine months of school in
my life, it is hard to think that there is the chance that
I may also have to leave the field one day.
This isn't an issue that is going to change overnight but
with the support of parents, families and the community on
issues concerning childcare and Early childhood Educators,
we can begin to take the steps towards change.
