Port Coquitlam will have two resolutions before the Union of BC Municipalities' (UBCM) convention this fall.

Monday, city council voted to put a motion on the UBCM floor calling on the provincial government to create a single BC Green Building Code and energy efficiency standards. According to a PoCo staff report, Canadian buildings are energy guzzlers.

As well, council will ask UBCM delegates to vote on a resolution to restore federal and provincial funding for child care services. The resolution is at the request of the BC Government and Service Employees' Union.
