Lifeguards, child-care workers and maintenance workers are
among the unionized employees of the North Vancouver Recreation
Commission who voted 94 per cent in favour of a strike last
week.
They join civic workers from the District of North Vancouver,
Vancouver and Delta in opposing reductions to proposed minimum
hour guarantees, benefits and sick leave. Union leaders argue
that with B.C. experiencing an economic boom, employers shouldn't
be cutting back....
