A National Conference on Feminism has wrapped-up in Vancouver with about one-hundred delegates concluding that feminism isn't dead.

Conference organizer Kiersten Ballard says despite women having increasing workplace success and entering careers previously dominated by men, there's still a pay gap, "As far as per-hour pay, it's still about 73 percent, but also, our net income is significantly less because they're taking these part time positions to balance the family life as well."

She says childcare is a burning issue for women in this country, and not enough is being done to give women more options. Delegates also discussed what they say is a lack of attention paid to the young women who have gone missing along BC's so-called Highway of Tears.
