City grants total $22 million

The City of Vancouver paid more than $22 million last year
in grants to about 400 groups, ranging from Ballet B.C. to
the Chinese Community Library Association.
Cultural groups received $5.2 million in grants, while community
services groups received $3.8 million and child-care services
got $1 million.
The Vancouver Symphony Society received the biggest grant
of $911,673, followed by the Vancouver Playhouse Theatre at
$371,000. The 2010 Legacies Now Society got $250,000.
The largest community-services grant went to Mosaic Community
Outreach Programs.
The Vancouver Aquarium received $5.9 million and the Vancouver
Art Gallery $2 million.
