Child care resolution goes to UBCM

Effective stable child care funding is needed from the provincial government, city council says.

Council passed a resolution Monday calling on the province to provide "ongoing, effective, increasing stable child care funding" and to fully restore annual funding for the local Child Care Resource and Referral Program. The resolution will be forwarded to the Union of B.C. Municipalities, and council will seek support from other municipalities during the UBCM's convention in September in Vancouver. ..
