Cuts in child-care funding will impact children entering
elementary classes, Central Okanagan school trustees will
argue at the annual general meeting of the B.C. School Trustees'
Association in Victoria.
All trustees except the Westside's Cheryl Wiebe will attend
Thursday to Sunday to support their resolution on child care,
said chairwoman Moyra Baxter.
"The resolution on child care is the biggest one of the year
for us: cuts to child care and what that means to some of
the students coming into our system, whether they are ready
to learn or not," she said.
Trustees are also hoping Minister of Education Shirley Bond
will explain what the name change from school boards to boards
of education means, she added....
