This is the last column I'll write for at least a year, as I'm off on maternity leave....

I say "at least a year" because the current child care crisis leaves me uncertain I'll be able to find care for my new baby in a year's time. There are waiting lists to be on waiting lists for quality child care on the Coast. I'll be watching the paper closely for child care updates in the coming months and I hope all levels of government will lend support to child care initiatives to ensure those of us who want to or have to work are able to....
