Re: MLA responds, TIMES Mailbag, Jan. 30

MLA Randy Hawes states in his letter that "child care remains a high priority for (his) government...Unfortunately," says Hawes, the federal government has cut their funding. Hawes states this action has left his government in a "precarious position."

Well now the shoe is on the other foot as it wasn't too long ago that Hawes' Liberals put Maple Ridge in that same precarious position when they cut funding to the local courthouse.

It seems it's easier to point fingers at a scapegoat than it is to dig in ones heels and produce a solution. If Hawes is sincere that child care is a priority, then his government will find the money.

There is money in the provincial coffers, isn't there? You can't talk booming economy in one breath and plead poverty in the next.
