Child care bill in the house

MP Nathan Cullen is hoping a new bill before the House of
Commons will help families on the North Coast and across Canada
when it comes to providing care for their children.
"The bill was introduce by Olvia Chow, one of our MPs, and
it creates child care on the same level as medicare. It creates
a national child care system and turns the hand of the government
to support a child care system much in the same way as when
we pushed for a national child care system under Tommy Douglas,"
he said.
While the bill was introduced by the NDP, Cullen is confident
that it will find the support it needs to make it all the
way through the proceedings of the house.
"It should have the support of the opposition members and
some government members should show support for it as well.
Everything piece of evidence we have about social mobility,
childhood obesity, learning rates, all of those key things
about a young person's growth and development point to needing
the options of good quality child care."
