VICTORIA/CKNW (AM980) - BC's Minister of State for Childcare insists the Province is spending money from the Federal Government on childcare.

Linda Reid says it's going to subsidies for families and will now continue indefinitely. She says they're still waiting for the Conservative Government in Ottawa for a plan on more child care spaces, "Where they would build child care space in Canada? What that looks like province by province? Frankly we're not sure yet."

Reid has been criticized by child care advocates speaking at Vancouver Council. They say she hasn't put the Federal dollars where they're needed most, in new spaces.
